Opportunities for new writers  
The Skillset Films Skills Fund is pleased to support:
She Writes - a year-long programme for eight up-and-coming female screenwriters who will benefit from an industry mentor, residential retreat, workshops and more. Deadline: Friday 29 January 2010.

Hothouse - a professional studio initially for writers and writer-directors to develop a signature film with the potential for distribution / exhibition.
Deadline: Monday 1 February 2010.

Producers placement programme 
Magic Light, in association with Skillset, is now recruiting for its highly successful producer placement programme.

Through placements producers will understand and engage with companies across the value chain to develop their business acumen and entrepreneurial skills.

Archive skills programme open
Skillset is launching major initiatives across the country as part of the archive skills programme. The programme seeks to safeguard Britain’s unique moving image archives and is a step towards ensuring archivists, picture researchers and production roles have the know-how with both current and newer technologies. Events, training and courses are available now.

Assistant location managers

 

Last call for applications!    
This scheme is aimed at people currently working as Assistant Location Managers, or other Production crew, and who want to move up the ladder. The five month course, run by Film London, features intensive workshops and seminars, set assignments and coursework. You’ll spend time with a working Location Manager, who acts as your mentor.
